I have had the same sort of problem with my 90
turned out to be the immobiliser, this was checked out 3 times each time ok, it was installed with the wires going in the top and water was getting in along one of the wires, hell of a job to start most damp mornings like a lazy starter, once started the engine heat dried it out, and was fine every time i took it to be tested. it was fitted inside the 90 in the fuse box compartment.
