: I had a similar problem with my new Freelander, bought in the UK earlier this year... the garage initially said they would have to replace the seal on the door, eventually all they did was rehang the door so that the seals met properly (they also replaced my rather-sodden carpet..)

I found on my Freelander that the leak which always appeared on top of the hinge strut on the bottom door sill was coming from water dripping onto the wiring loom that comes into the door. It was them dripping along the wires and out of the bottom of the door. I repositioned the wires that are behind the reversing lights and filled the top of the wiring loom where it goes into the rubber boot with silicon sealant. Not very pretty but has fixed the leak.( although it's hidden behind the plastic panel)

Paul.
