Your posting doesn't mention what type of Landy you're referring to, but it could be down to the oil filter. It sounds like the engine could be taking a couple of seconds to begin drawing any oil out of the filter after startup.
If yours is a Series model with a cannister filter, could it have been incorrectly assembled without the required spring washer, allowing oil to bypass the element?
Alternatively, if you have a spin-on filter, what make is it? Cheap filters can sometimes display this problem - it's worth sticking to OEM parts.
