The rear hub adjusting and locking nuts (both the same) as supplied by the official dealer are not the same as the original items on my 96 TDi. The original locking nuts are 2 1/16" AF and have rounded corners and the ones supplied by the dealer are 50mm AF with square corners. The dealer states that they are the correct ones and have not changed from '89 till the TD5 was introduced. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Has the stub axle thread been changed? Perhaps the replacements have been supplied by a different sub-contractor?
