Black smoke is - as you know - an indication of a too rich mixture. I see two causes : Either not getting in sufficient air due to a (very) dirthy air filter or a blocked air inlet. This cause also gives difficulties to the engine to climb into high rev's. Either worn injectors (too much fuel injected)
